At the beginning of August our short term Romania team hosted a Honey Bears BBQ to share more about the challenges with women in Romania and how our team plans to minister while there in October. Included in our program that evening, a Romanian man, Ioan Tina (above), who now lives in Arizona, blessed us by singing "It Is Well With My Soul" in Romanian. It's always such a blessing to hear God praised in another language.
During the BBQ, a very generous donor offered to match all donations for sponsoring Romanian women to attend our upcoming retreat. Of our $13,500 goal, we've raised nearly $8,000, which includes the matching gifts! Due to the poor economic conditions in Romania, these women wouldn't otherwise be able to attend. God provides!
Now our team is gearing up for our September 19th Ministry Awareness Event: "Unwrapping the Gift". We'll provide dinner during this exciting evening program, and Naomi Rhode is our featured speaker.
